Way of the Knight strides onto the PC + New title?

Way of the Knight has been available on the market for about two months now and it has sure been an exciting period! For most of us at Mjölnir Games, this was the first game we’ve published, which makes the experience all the more thrilling.

The game is doing quite well on both the App Store and Google Play; both the Lite version and the Full version is being downloaded frequently, which is awesome!

Now, the next step for us, is to take the game onto the PC, Mac and Linux, which will give us opportunity to reach even more gamers! We’re currently looking in to which services we might publish through and what changes need to be made to the game in roder to be as awesome for PC as it is for Mobile. More on that as we progress!

Now, lastly, we’re currently discussing what our next projet should be, cause while WotK sure is a fun game, we feel that it is important for us to take the next step and get to working on another title! No rest for the wicked (or the Game Devs) as the old saying goes.

When we know more about how Way of the Knight will be published on the PC, Mac and Linux, we’ll be sure to let you know! And, of course, once we start developing a new title, we’ll make sure you know about it!

Until next time!

Back from hiatus… again…

So, we published the Way of the Knight and then went on a media blackout on our website!  All according to a well-laid plan. I guess we should cue an evil laughter here. Anyone agree?

No, in all seriousness; we actually didn’t plan on letting the website stand as barren as an abandoned city in a spaghetti western from the 70s. It just happened, what with marketing the game on other channels, contacting reviewers and, for six of us, spending a lot, A LOT, of time on our Thesis projects.

Anyway, we’re back now, at least we hope we are, with a somewhat more regular posting frequency: this time with some news:

First of all: thanks to everyone who’s downloaded and/or purchased the game: each download means the world to us and it’s great to see that people like it. To those of you who have yet to download it (growl), feel free to check it out at the landing page and, if you feel inclined, give it a download.

Secondly, we’re currently busy with school projects, re-organizing the company and working on a new project. All of these topics will be given their own posts, in which we’ll give you more detailed accounts on all, so bear with us.

Lastly, we’re currently in discussions and negotiations regarding a PC, Mac and Linux version of Way of the Knight, which is awesome! The game will, most likely, be almost exactly the same, but with a few modification to better suit the desktop or laptop environment. More on that as we progress!

That’s it for now from the Mjölnir Team! Hope you enjoyed our little update. It will, hopefully, not be long until the next one.

Farväl, as we say in Sweden.

Way of the Knight is live!

We’ve finally done it! The game is now finally published! Way of the Knight is Live!

After having encountered a lot of trouble, many headaches and more red tape than we thought possible, our first ever title is now available on both the App Store and Google Play!

Simply click the appropriate store name above to download the App! If you want more information, please feel free to check the Landing Page!

And, finally, here is a fantastic trailer of the game, made by our own, brilliant Robin Lindh Nilsson!

As you might imagine, we have some celebrating to do, so ’till next time!

And we’re coming up on the final turn!

That about sums up the last month of Mjölnir Games. Finally, we’ve managed to straighten out all wrinkles. Finally, we’ve come to an agreement with different concerned parties. And Finally, we’ve finished Way of the Knight! Finally!

Both the demo (a new version) and the full game are being compiled and distributed as we speak and it’s simply a matter of time, before our distributors (Apple App Store and Google Play) review and publish it.

We have a bad track record of keeping the dates we set and we’ll therefore not give you one now either, but safe to say that the game will be available within the very much foreseeable future! And when it is, there will be announcements everywhere!

Exciting times!

Mjölnir Games back from Hiatus

Alternate title: …so yeah, the game is not yet published.

Due to issues that I won’t go into here (and which are also the reason for our media blackout) the game has unfortunately been delayed quite significantly. We sincerely apologise for this and can only ask you to bear with us as we take the final steps towards releasing our first title. It’s an amazing, frustrating and altogether complex journey; both logistically and emotionally.

As of today, we are not comfortable providing and estimated release date and will, therefore, simply say that it is coming, and soon.

While you wait, however, please download the demo which can be found here. It is available for both iOS and Android devices and provides an excellent taste of what’s to come.

We’ll also make our best effort in keeping you updated with information, screenshots and similar right here on our web page, starting right now:

Until next time,

Way of the Knight Demo is live!

…since two weeks ago!

The Demo for our upcoming game Way of the Knight is currently Live on Google Play and awaiting review on the App Store. Being a slimmed demo of WotK, it contains 6 levels of fun gameplay and gives a great taste of what’s to come!

Find it at:

In other news, we’ve FINALLy been able to navigate all the red tape and, as such, are now just about ready to launch the full game! It will be submitted to Google Play and the App Store by the end of This Week and should thereby be available for purchase in no more than two weeks time!

Here’s a few screenshots of the game as seen on the iPhone:

Mjölnir Games at Gamex 2013!

In all the recent hysteria and crunching to get everything put in place for our long-waited release, we’ve been putting off posting something here, sorry to say.

Anyway, that’s being rectified as we “speak”, quite literally.

In awesome news: Mjölnir Games has been offered a spot at Gamex 2013, as part of The Squares Indie Developer showcase. We’ll be showing off our first title; Way of the Knight, market ourselves and our company and, perhaps most importantly, talk to awesome Indies and game enthusiasts. We’re incredibly excited about this opportunity and we’re currently in a state of “Making-sure-everything-is-in-place-panic”!

So, see you at Gamex?

Reworking the levels!

With the extra time from our delayed release, we’ve managed to get a lot of extra things done. The pathfinding alogortihm has been tweaked and tweaked again, the menus and HUD has been reworked and we’ve even managed to give all levels a major rework.

While the levels was fun and challenging before, they have now become more streamlined and provides a more appropriate learning curve, which is essential to our game. The rework still needs to tested and then tested again (get in touch on contact@mjolnirgames.se) if you wanna be part of that), but we feel confident that they’ll be fun, exciting and amazingly frustrating.

ScreenEdit ScreenPlay

We’re wading through the red tape at full speed and things are indeed progressing. Soon we’ll officially be a company and then it’ simply a matter of licenses and publishing. Exciting times!

International Coffee Day Crunch

… or ICDC , if you prefer.

Today we celebrate the International Coffee Day around the globe, an event that has been around since late 1980s. Over here at Mjölnir Games we celebrate by getting together for an all-day crunch session, Sunday or not.

During this crunch we will get as many levels as possible finished, tweak and fix the 2D graphics, iron out whatever bugs we still have lying around and, or course, drink copious amounts of coffee (what else is new, right).

Mjölnir Games goes official… soon…

When simultaneously developing your first title AND starting up your company, you’re bound to hit a few speed bumps and we’re not an exception. This time, we ran into what feels like a wall of red tape: bureaucracy, business agreements and paper filing. Since having a registered company is needed to publish our games, we will unfortunately have to push our release another few weeks, to get everything put in place. We feel that this is a good news/bad news situation:

The bad news is that you’ll have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy our game, which is of course sad, but the good news is that while a few of us make our way through the red tape, the rest of us can focus on further polishing and enhancing Way of the Knight!

We apologize for the delay and promise to deliver a game that is even better than it would have been, had we released it on time.
