Mjölnir Games at Retrospelsfestivalen in Malmö

Mjölnir Games has been invited, and of course accepted, to attend Retrospelsfestivalen!

Retrospelsfestivalen is a new and exciting event where Gamers, Developers, Merchants and other enthusiasts come together to revel in everything that is Retro Video Games.

We will attend both as gamers (as if we could not) and developers, as we will both make sure to play a lot of fun games AND show off our own games. Way of the Knight, our first title will be demoed and gift codes will be handed out and we will, hopefully, be able to give a few first looks at our new project (dun dun dun).

Lastly, check out Retrospelsfestivalens website.

Take care, folks!

Way of the Knight launches on PC, Mac and Linux!

We’re glad, proud and happy, happy, happy to announce that Way of the Knight; our first title, is now also available for PC, Mac and Linux with the help of the awesome people at Humble Bundle!

Publishing the game for desktop units has been a goal almost since the first release of Way of the Knight and, while it has not always been our highest priority, we’ve always gravitated towards it in our discussions! Now it’s a reality! Woo!

As of now, the game can be purchased through our very own Humble Widget! Simply go to the Way of the Knight page and purchase the game! You get it for the PC, Mac and Linux, and, if you ask nicely (simply send us an e-mail), we can throw in a mobile version as well.

The game is fun, exciting, challenging and now for desktop!

Oh, by the way, please, please spread the word!

News, news, news…

It’s been a while again, hasn’t it? Almost a month since our last update. Time sure flies.

So, what’s new with us, you ask? Well, we’ll tell you:

Our latest title: Pond Tycoon, is up and well on both the App Store and Google Play, and doing quite well.

Way of the Knight is, of course, equally available, and we’re in the process of launching it on the PC, Mac and Linux as well. It may still be a while until it’s actually published and available, but it’s on its way. More on that later (read: in a week or so).

Last, but not least, we’re currently in the pre-pre-production of a new title. Ideas are flying around the office and brains are causing storms (or are they storming, I’m never sure). Which idea we’ll actually choose is as yet very unclear, but hey, that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?

Alright, that’s all for now, folks! Talk to you soon, we hope.

Pond Tycoon awaiting review!

Yesterday, we jumped through the last hoop and submitted our new title: Pond Tycoon, to the App Store and Google Play! Now begins the waiting game. A short waiting game, please (I’m looking at you, Apple!). More like than not, within a week, Pond Tycoon will be available for you to play and enjoy!

While Apple is reviewing our game, we crank away at putting Way of the Knight on the PC (Windows, MAc and Linux) and we’ll hopefully be able to get in on the Humble Store before too long!

Just a quick update, from your friendly neighbourhood Norse!

Winner of Sony Hackathon!

This past weekend, our brilliant Programmer and Sound Artist Robin Lindh Nilsson, attended the Sony Hackathon in Lund, Sweden, and guess what! HE WON!

His game Pond Tycoon, in which you create waves to provide power to buy generators, earned him a brand new Sony Playstation 4 and the honour of having won Sony Hackathon 2014.

The rest of us at Mjölnir are very proud of our dear Robin and we’ve quickly decided to give Pond Tycoon a proper release on the iOS and Android, to celebrate his victory and give gamers everywhere the chance to have a go at the game!

The game will be released within a couple of weeks, after we’ve jumped through the hurdles of publishing!

Until then, have a long and good gawk at the gameplay trailer and screenshots below!

Way of the Knight strides onto the PC + New title?

Way of the Knight has been available on the market for about two months now and it has sure been an exciting period! For most of us at Mjölnir Games, this was the first game we’ve published, which makes the experience all the more thrilling.

The game is doing quite well on both the App Store and Google Play; both the Lite version and the Full version is being downloaded frequently, which is awesome!

Now, the next step for us, is to take the game onto the PC, Mac and Linux, which will give us opportunity to reach even more gamers! We’re currently looking in to which services we might publish through and what changes need to be made to the game in roder to be as awesome for PC as it is for Mobile. More on that as we progress!

Now, lastly, we’re currently discussing what our next projet should be, cause while WotK sure is a fun game, we feel that it is important for us to take the next step and get to working on another title! No rest for the wicked (or the Game Devs) as the old saying goes.

When we know more about how Way of the Knight will be published on the PC, Mac and Linux, we’ll be sure to let you know! And, of course, once we start developing a new title, we’ll make sure you know about it!

Until next time!

Back from hiatus… again…

So, we published the Way of the Knight and then went on a media blackout on our website!  All according to a well-laid plan. I guess we should cue an evil laughter here. Anyone agree?

No, in all seriousness; we actually didn’t plan on letting the website stand as barren as an abandoned city in a spaghetti western from the 70s. It just happened, what with marketing the game on other channels, contacting reviewers and, for six of us, spending a lot, A LOT, of time on our Thesis projects.

Anyway, we’re back now, at least we hope we are, with a somewhat more regular posting frequency: this time with some news:

First of all: thanks to everyone who’s downloaded and/or purchased the game: each download means the world to us and it’s great to see that people like it. To those of you who have yet to download it (growl), feel free to check it out at the landing page and, if you feel inclined, give it a download.

Secondly, we’re currently busy with school projects, re-organizing the company and working on a new project. All of these topics will be given their own posts, in which we’ll give you more detailed accounts on all, so bear with us.

Lastly, we’re currently in discussions and negotiations regarding a PC, Mac and Linux version of Way of the Knight, which is awesome! The game will, most likely, be almost exactly the same, but with a few modification to better suit the desktop or laptop environment. More on that as we progress!

That’s it for now from the Mjölnir Team! Hope you enjoyed our little update. It will, hopefully, not be long until the next one.

Farväl, as we say in Sweden.

Way of the Knight is live!

We’ve finally done it! The game is now finally published! Way of the Knight is Live!

After having encountered a lot of trouble, many headaches and more red tape than we thought possible, our first ever title is now available on both the App Store and Google Play!

Simply click the appropriate store name above to download the App! If you want more information, please feel free to check the Landing Page!

And, finally, here is a fantastic trailer of the game, made by our own, brilliant Robin Lindh Nilsson!

As you might imagine, we have some celebrating to do, so ’till next time!

And we’re coming up on the final turn!

That about sums up the last month of Mjölnir Games. Finally, we’ve managed to straighten out all wrinkles. Finally, we’ve come to an agreement with different concerned parties. And Finally, we’ve finished Way of the Knight! Finally!

Both the demo (a new version) and the full game are being compiled and distributed as we speak and it’s simply a matter of time, before our distributors (Apple App Store and Google Play) review and publish it.

We have a bad track record of keeping the dates we set and we’ll therefore not give you one now either, but safe to say that the game will be available within the very much foreseeable future! And when it is, there will be announcements everywhere!

Exciting times!

Mjölnir Games back from Hiatus

Alternate title: …so yeah, the game is not yet published.

Due to issues that I won’t go into here (and which are also the reason for our media blackout) the game has unfortunately been delayed quite significantly. We sincerely apologise for this and can only ask you to bear with us as we take the final steps towards releasing our first title. It’s an amazing, frustrating and altogether complex journey; both logistically and emotionally.

As of today, we are not comfortable providing and estimated release date and will, therefore, simply say that it is coming, and soon.

While you wait, however, please download the demo which can be found here. It is available for both iOS and Android devices and provides an excellent taste of what’s to come.

We’ll also make our best effort in keeping you updated with information, screenshots and similar right here on our web page, starting right now:

These are screenshots from three different levels of the third and last world (the dark and mysterious castle).

Until next time,
